Este projecto inicia-se a pedido da Associação Eco D'Chaves e da Câmara Municipal da Boa Vista para realizar um estudo que identifique, defina, quantifique e estruture os trabalhos necessários para a reparação e conservação da Igreja de São Roque.
O enfoque da intervenção proposta abrange desde a consolidação através de reparações essenciais até à reabilitação mediante adaptações para melhorar a interpretação do edifício, sempre com uma abordagem restauradora que preserve os valores históricos e arquitectónicos deste emblemático edifício.
Os objetivos-chave são:
Avaliar o estado atual da igreja a partir de uma perspetiva de restauração.
Definir e quantificar as labores de consolidação necessárias.
Estruturar as ações a realizar na futura intervenção.
Consolidar e recuperar a estrutura, devolvendo-lhe a sua funcionalidade arquitectónica.
Este projecto é um passo adicional na valorização e defesa do património histórico e arquitectónico de Cabo Verde e representa a materialização de uma ideia que nasce da comunidade, concretizando-se através do interesse da Associação Eco D'Chaves, sendo de grande importância para o futuro da ilha.
O estudo foi concretizado em dois volumes publicados, com 290 páginas escritas e ilustrações, e 100 planos desenhados, apresentados à CMBV e IPC em 2019.

This project was initiated at the request of Associação Eco D'Chaves and Câmara Municipal de Boa Vista to conduct a study identifying, defining, quantifying, and structuring the necessary work for the repair and conservation of the church of São Roque.
The proposed intervention focuses on everything from essential repairs for structural consolidation to rehabilitating the building with adaptations aimed at enhancing its interpretation, always with a restorative approach that preserves the historical and architectural values of this emblematic building.
Key objectives include:
Assessing the current condition of the church from a restoration perspective.
Defining and quantifying the consolidation work needed.
Structuring the actions to be carried out in the future intervention.
Consolidating and recovering the structure, restoring its architectural functionality.
This project is an important step in enhancing and safeguarding Cabo Verde’s historical and architectural heritage. It represents the realization of an idea that originated within the community and was brought to life through the interest of the Eco D'Chaves Association, playing a vital role in the island’s future.
The study was completed in two volumes, with 290 written pages and illustrations, and 100 drawn plans, which were presented to the CMBV and IPC in 2019.
